Both the toddler and baby were keen to get stuck into this week's activity and we are loving 'A' week. If you wish to share any activites that you do with your toddler or baby we'd love to hear about them. This week is all about 'A' and here are our favourite a activities for toddlers and babies.
I collected a range of objects beginning with a - ambulance, apple juice, Princess Aurora, apples, an avocado and displayed them along with a cash register to make a shop. The toddler then visited the shop and had to ask for the a items that she wanted. To make it a bit more challenging we then added some objects beginning with other letters and she had to decide/remember which objects begin with a. This was a fun activity that both the toddler and the preschooler have already asked to repeat.
The value of action songs and rhymes is immense and children love it - what's more it is free and super easy. We love a singsong and enjoyed action songs : heads, shoulders knees and toes, wind a bobbin up and the wheels on the bus!
This activity was such fun and both the preschooler, toddler and baby got stuck in. I made up brown angel delight as per the packet instructions. I then spooned it over our toy animals to make them 'muddy'. The children's job was to clean them. They scrubbed with sponges and brushes to law the animals clean and they loved it!!! This improved their hand strength as they stubbed and squeezed. Once the animals were clean the baby boy delighted in stamping in the fake mud. I even saved a little of the left over angel delight for a sweet treat!!
