Our week in St Leonards, Dorset

Our week in St Leonards, Dorset

My 7 year old twins absolutely love spending time with their cousins who are 2 and 5 years old. Unfortunately we don’t live near each other so in the  holidays we decided to hire a caravan in Dorset for five days.

We stayed in Oakdene Holiday Park in St Leonards. It was absolutely perfect for us. The caravan was a good size, modern and clean. On site there is a shop, a park, a restaurant and a great swimming pool. The pool was perfect for my little niece as there is a paddling area and then for the older ones there is a slide which they loved. In the evening there is the option of entertainment and music too.

Locally there is so much to do... and so here are some recommendations. There is an absolutely amazing park called Moors Valley Country Park.  This park has several different trails you can follow, fantastic climbing equipment, a lake and also Go Ape if you have older children. There is also a lake and a lovely place to eat too.

We also went crabbing on Mudeford Quay. The kids really enjoyed this and even gave names to all the little crabs we caught. You can buy all the gear at the quay if you don’t have it already.

Finally I would really recommend Paultons Park. Peppa Pig world is perfect for our littlest but the older ones secretly didn’t mind the Peppa Pig rides either! But our 5 and 7 year olds couldn’t get enough of the rides in Paultons Park. If they were under the height restriction they could still go on it with an adult which meant they could go on everything.....they can’t wait to go back!
